I am offering guitar lessons for beginner, intermediate, and advanced guitar students of all ages in New York.

In teaching, I focus on making sure to teach music and not just guitar - that is, while teaching skills specific to the guitar, I also integrate music theory, note reading, improvisation, and composition. I taylor lessons to individual students based on their musical interests, goals, skill level, and learning style. I can teach a variety of styles including blues, jazz, funk, rock and more.

I have been playing guitar for 16 years, have a BA in music (jazz focus), and have been teaching guitar for 4 years. I have played in and composed for a number of different groups and my Afro-Funk band, Ikebe Shakedown, recently signed with Ubiquity Records.
